Mr. Lalith Witanachchi completed his primary and secondary education at St. Thomas” College, Mount Lavinia and joined the shipping industry in 1985. He became a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers – (UK) in the year 2000 and assumed duties as the General Manager of the Local Agency Office of Hapag-Lloyd AG in 2010. He was appointed as Vice President of Hapag-Lloyd Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, in 2021
Mr. Witanachchi became a member of the ICS controlling council-UK from 2013 to 2015 and elected as the Chairman of the ICS (Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers) UK, Sri Lanka Branch in 2015 for a tenure of 2 years. During this period, he served as a member of the advisory committee for the Ministry of Shipping and Ports, Sri Lanka.
He is serving as a permanent member of the lecturing panel of ICS UK – Sri Lanka Branch and serves as a member of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka)
